Common questions
My contract analysis is taking too long
Large contracts (15+ pages) can take up to 3 minutes. If it exceeds 5 minutes, the serverless function may have timed out. Try refreshing and re-uploading. If the issue persists, contact support with the file name and size.
I can’t sign in with Google
Make sure pop-ups are enabled for theclauseguard.com. If you see a redirect error, try clearing your browser cookies for our site and signing in again. For the Word Add-in, Google OAuth requires Edge WebView2.
My DOCX export is blank or has errors
This usually happens with very large contracts or when the analysis timed out before generating redlines. Try re-analyzing the contract. If the issue persists, try the PDF export instead and contact support.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Pricing → click ‘Manage billing’ → you’ll be redirected to the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel, update payment methods, or download invoices. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Subscriptions are non-refundable since each analysis consumes AI processing resources. However, you can cancel anytime — no penalty, no cancellation fee. You keep full access through the end of your billing period.
The Word Add-in doesn’t load
Ensure you’re using Word 2016 or later on Windows/Mac, or Word Online. The task pane requires an internet connection. If sideloading, make sure the manifest XML is valid. For enterprise deployment, contact your IT admin.
My contract score seems wrong
Scores are weighted by clause severity and adjusted for missing critical provisions. If you believe a score is inaccurate, email support@theclauseguard.com with the contract name and score and we’ll investigate.
How do I use ClauseGuard with my team?
Business plan users can create a team at /team. Invite members by email — they’ll receive a magic link to join. Admins can manage roles (Admin, Member, Viewer) and share contracts across the team workspace.
